Berries and Cherries
for Kenzi Viser

A hot summer night
Surrounded by friends,
A quick look around
Shows
Enemy in sight.
One look, all it takes.
In a crowd of unfamliar faces
Cold brass touches her hand;
That hand shows who’s boss.
The cold metal rips her opponent’s skin;
A hot pain runs through that girl’s body.
She falls.
Like a human deck of cards, barely breathed on,
She falls.
And as she falls,
A bright, audible light is heard behind the victor;
Sweet berries and cherries.

Everyday
The smell hits the nose
Like a bat hits a ball.
They stand and wrap,
Making my glorious
Burrito musk.

An Ode to an Old Friend

Oh, friend, you have yet to fail me.
         Your concern for my well being has never faltered
Your voice has yet to prove me wrong
         Your gentleness has lifted my spirits through the worst,
And also during the best
         There is no criticism from you
You love without question or care
         Your body speaks to me in a way no one else could
Your head
         Oh, your head
Stays sharp and in tune with my needs
         Your tender, slim neck aches for my cold, white, clammy hands
To grasp you,
          To feel you,
To play you
          I admit, I have dwindled to others before you
But you, my friend, will always be the best.
          You and I
Together forever
          People will say,
“Look at him,
          always with that damn friend.
When will they learn that forever
          is not possible?”
Then I will reply
         ”My guitar and I
do not listen to your
          doubts.”

Long Time No Post, shall we look at poems?

I haven’t written on this in a while, and now I will be trying a new approach.  Instead of using this as a journal, I shall use this to share my writings, poems, and beliefs.  Criticism is always excepted!

The Space of Mine

What is it about this
Site
That makes people go crazy?
This simple minded idea
Of
Talking to friends
Has blown off the chart
Why?
Well,
It could be the idea of a certain friend
Leading his friends
To a lead site
Where the space of theirs
Is their own space
and No One Elses.

Or it could be due to
The need to keep up with people,
The want of wanting to know,
The endless shower of social knowledge that
Pours off the screen into your brain
Like rain falling into a gutter,
Collecting and connecting,
One drop at a time,
Till a pool of information
Has formed.

 

Conforming Flight

Laying on the wings of insecurity,
I fly through the air of uncertainty
Until I reach my destination of conformity.
